BOARD OF DIRECTORS:
ASHNA International Youth Association (AIYA) Board of Directors:
The Board of Directors of AIYA is composed of National and International experts, The General Director will be as General Board Director and Board Committee; they work to ensure that youth across the world have a voice and they are also responsible for decision making on operational program changes, reports, amendment of constitutions and policy making decision. The decisions taken by the General Director shall be reported to Boards of Directors members and in general they shall have the following functions:
- To adopt the policy guidelines and the work plan of AIYA;
- To accept new International members;
- To adopt amendments to the Statutes;
- To adopt the Rules of Procedure;
- To adopt the budget and approve the accounts;
- To evaluate the work of AIYA based on a report presented to the Board;
- To dismiss directors and bodies;
- To ratify the appointment of directors to the rules of procedure;
- Equality: This requires mutual respect between members of AIYA irrespective of size and power. Directors must respect each other’s mandates, obligations, independence, and brand identity and recognize each other’s constraints and commitments;
- Transparency: This is achieved through dialogue, with an emphasis on consultations and sharing of information. Communications and transparency, including financial transparency and increase the level of trust;
- Result-oriented approach: The effective project implementation must be reality-based and action-oriented. This requires result-oriented coordination based on effective capabilities and concrete operational capacities;
- Responsibility: Directors have an ethical obligation to the General Director and each other to accomplish their tasks responsibly, with integrity, dignity and in a relevant and appropriate way.
- Complementarity: This may be possible by building comparative advantages and complement each other’s contributions.
POLICY STRUCTURE:
ASHNA International Youth Association (AIYA) Board of Directors Policy Structure:
- AIYA shall have one up to five members (Board of Directors). The board is the ultimate and highest source of decision-making body.
- Members of the board shall elect, among themselves, a person as the General Director of the board with a simple majority of votes for the period of ten years.
- The board shall appoint, from within the board a person with sufficient managerial capacity as the General Director of AIYA for a ten year-term. In special case the board has also the right to appoint the mentioned the Operational Directors, from outside of the Board;
- The Board of Directors meets one every three months. Extraordinary meetings of the board shall be conveyed by seven days-notices of the General Director of simple majority of the board members. In case of absence of the director’s one of the members shall be chosen by a simple majority vote for each meeting as temporary General Director.
- All the internal activities of day-to-day operation are the direct responsibly of the General Director reports to the board.
- In the meeting which is held every three months the responsible of each branch should report their activities to the board verbally or in written form upon which the majority will discuss and plan for the future. The general director of the board should present the common policy of foreign relations.
